The Huraa Mangrove Nature Reserve is located North of the island and is designated a Protected Area.
The mangrove features unique vegetation and a resting place for protected birds. Ten species of plants are found in the Huraa mangrove, these include four species of true mangroves and five mangrove associate plants.
