Constructed on the Gan Island, an island originally built as a Royal Navy base by the British in 1941, the War Memorial was established to pay homage to the soldiers who died while serving in the Royal Air Force from 1941 to 1971.
The iconic place also features cannons from World War 2 that are placed facing the Memorial to safeguard it. The wordings on the memorial are in English, Hindi and Urdu.
