278,000 residences were fully vaccinated in Maldives

As of August 4, 2021, about 278,469 persons in the Maldives have gotten the second dosage of the COVID-19 vaccine. In addition, 326,339 people have gotten the first dosage, and a significant number of tourism industry employees have been fully vaccinated. The I'm Vaccinated Campaign was launched by the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with stakeholders.
By 2021, the Maldives hopes to have a fully immunized tourism sector. The Maldives plans to distribute immunizations to visitors through the Visit, Vaccinate, Vacation initiative once all locals have received the vaccine. As of August 3rd, 2021, the island country had received 626,314 tourist arrivals. In 2021, the Maldives hopes to attract 1.5 million tourists.
