Sun Siyam recently adopted the SSI Lifeguard Training

The Maldivian Ministry of Tourism has issued a new guideline that all tourism establishments must comply with by September 2021. The ultimate goal is to have lifeguards on duty at all Sun Siyam Resorts swimming facilities, as well as a designated "Lifeguard on Duty" beach zone. On a five-day SSI Lifeguard course, SSI Teacher Trainer Koen Zuurbier and SSI Assistant Instructor Trainer completed their SSI Beach Lifeguard instructor training.

On Saturday, the Maldives hosted the SSI Lifeguard Instructor Training Course. The course began with a 400-meter swim test, a 15-meter underwater swim, and a 50-meter rescue approach swim. It then includes in-water and out-of-water theoretical and practical training to teach them how to recognize and respond to problems that may develop at the pool or beach.
