IndiGo has resumed flights to the Maldives' capital from Cochin, Bangalore, and Mumbai. Flights between this sector will be operated by the airline using A320 Neo and A321 Neo aircraft. After the relaxation of travel restrictions for south Asian countries, IndiGo was one of the first Indian airlines to begin flights.
From July 15, 2021, the Maldives opens its borders to all nationalities. With a confirmed booking for a stay at any registered tourist facility in the country, all tourists are issued a 30-day free on-arrival visa. India is one of the Maldives' most important international tourist markets. While there is no mandated quarantine or testing upon arrival, travelers visiting the Maldives must complete an online questionnaire.
