Guesthouses in Maldives resume accepting tourists from South Asia

Guesthouses in the Maldives will be able to take bookings from South Asian tourists again by the end of July 2021, according to the President's Office. The Health Emergency Operations Centre (HEOC), according to Mabrook, seeks to have 95 percent of all guesthouse staff completely immunized. HEOC also plans to vaccinate 60% of the local population on islands with guesthouses, according to the spokeswoman.
On the 13th of May 2021, Maldives Immigration suspended tourist immigration from South Asian countries. India has been waiting for the tropical vacation spot to start issuing visas again. In late July, guesthouses will accept bookings from Indian travelers again. South Asian tourists will be able to visit Maldives resorts from July 15, 2021.
