Qatar Airways expands IATA Travel Pass Trial

Qatar Airways is the first airline to use the IATA Travel Pass 'Digital Passport' Mobile App for COVID-19 vaccine authentication. From July, cabin crew will be able to upload their vaccination records and confirm that they are eligible to travel. The airline is still committed to eliminating bureaucracy and giving passengers with a more frictionless, secure, and seamless travel experience.

Qatar Airways is the first airline to use the IATA Travel Pass 'Digital Passport' Mobile App for COVID-19 vaccine authentication. "We know that when more people begin making arrangements to return to their favorite holiday destinations, they will unavoidably face the problem of ensuring they have the necessary documents," said Akbar Al Baker, the airline's CEO. Qatar Airways and the Qatari government have taken the initiative by becoming the first to test the verification of passengers' immunization credentials using an IATA travel pass.
