From July 15, 2021, the Maldives' Ministry of Tourism has announced that visitors from South Asia would be able to visit the tropical holiday resort. Tourists from South Asian countries will be awarded on-arrival tourist visas, according to a Tourism Ministry circular, starting on the 15th of this month. A negative PCR test done 96 hours prior to departure from the initial embarkation site is required. They'll have to quarantine for 14 days once they get in the Maldives.
Locals who tested positive for COVID-19 and recovered within 60 days will be exempt from quarantine in the Maldives. Travelers from India, in particular, have been waiting for the Maldives to resume issuing visas. India, along with Russia, has been the country's largest tourist source market for the majority of 2021. For Indian celebrities, the Maldives is a favorite vacation resort.
