Visit Maldives hosted a Webinar with ASTA

The Maldives collaborated with the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) to host a webinar aimed at the American market. The webinar will present the most up-to-date destination information, product and experience information, and promote the Maldives as a "safe haven" for the US market. With over 14,500 members representing over 120 countries, Visit Maldives is one of the world's biggest champions for travel advisors.

As a result of the severe safeguards in place, the Maldives received a 'Safe Travel Stamp' from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) in 2020, as well as Velana International Airport health accreditation. The webinar included a brief discussion on the Maldives Border Miles program, as well as the latest 'I'm Vaccinated' campaign launched by the Ministry of Tourism and Visit Maldives. More information about the Maldives vaccination push was presented, including the goal of making the Maldives the first totally vaccinated tourism destination, vaccinated figures, and future plans.
