Luke Air, a Blue Panorama Airlines subsidiary chartered by the Polish vacation operator ITAKA and managed by Sun Ocean Maldives, has begun weekly charters to the Maldives with its A330 aircraft. LOT Polish Airline, the first charter flight from the Polish market this year, arrived in the Maldives on February 19th, carrying over 294 people, and will remain there until May 7th, 2021. Luke Air's current charter flights are expected to continue until June 17th, 2021.
Visit Maldives and ITAKA collaborated on a campaign to advertise the Maldives as a safe haven in Poland and increase arrivals from that market. The effort was timed to coincide with the resumption of charter flights to the Maldives from Warsaw, and such targeted marketing activities are required to promote the destination and keep the charter business running all year. ItaKA is a professional and experienced tour operator in the Polish market, with over 30 years of experience.
The continuing ITAKA campaign combines digital and outdoor advertising to boost and promote Maldives reservations. Maldives is currently being advertised on AdWords with breathtaking landscapes and helpful writing as part of the digital campaign. Animated display advertisements and push notifications are also used to promote the destination on various travel and lifestyle websites in Poland. With over 8000 tourists arriving each year, the Polish market is poised to become a top source market for the Maldives in the future.
