Visit Maldives collaborates with National Geographic

The Maldives has teamed together with National Geographic Traveller Russia to put on a physical photo show in two major Russian cities. The physical exhibition will take place in Moscow from June 16 to June 30, followed by a show in St. Petersburg. The shows are expected to draw a total of 3-5 million people because they are held over the summer.

The Maldives is dedicated to promoting and highlighting the country's culture, traditions, legacy, and particular island experience. To sell the destination in the Russian market, several media familiarization tours have been done and are currently underway. Visit Maldives has previously hosted a TV team from Moya Planeta, a leading Russian television network, with the program shot in the Maldives, set to air later this month. In conjunction with Expedia, Visit Maldives is launching a global campaign aimed at Russia. With the Association of Tour Operators in Russia, Visit Maldives ran an educational and training program for the Russian travel industry (ATOR) The Maldives' major source market for tourist arrivals in Russia. The Maldives had received 107,102 visitors as of June 2nd, 2021.
