The borosilicate glass drinkware is 550ml in size and comes with a cloth sleeve with a carry hook. This environmentally friendly alternative attempts to reduce the amount of plastic bottles dumped in the ocean each year. The resort has its own desalination and bottling plant, which produces drinkable water for guests and staff. The building of eight water replenishment stations across the island is also part of this plan.
Kuramathi, part of Universal Resorts of Universal Enterprises Private Ltd, was one of the first resorts to open in the Maldives. The resort uses environmentally friendly techniques such as marine protection programs, energy and water conservation, and ecological awareness activities to engage guests. There are 12 different types of villas available, ranging from private Beach Villas to exquisite Water Villas with Pool, to suit all budgets. There are many restaurants, pubs, and great-value all-inclusive packages to choose from, all topped off with Maldivian service that is warm, genuine, and kind.
