Maldives has been featured in a TV show

In the most recent episode of Quest's World of Wonder, the Maldives are featured. Richard Quest arrives in the Maldives to discover the island paradise's mysteries. The 30-minute special will advertise the Maldives as a "safe haven" destination.

Richard Quest of CNN visits the Maldives to meet the operator of Kurumba, the country's first spa. Quest also meets Mohamed Nasheed, the former president of the Maldives and speaker of parliament. Quest meets Hussain Rasheed, dubbed "the Godfather of Maldivian Swimming." Quest ends the adventure at Reethi Beach, where he goes fishing with the resort manager and her friends. On October 1, the show will debut on CNN International.

In 2020, Visit Maldives collaborated with CNN on an advertising campaign. The location has been shown on CNN's weather watch. The top three source markets are now India, Russia, and Ukraine. Visit Maldives, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, recently launched the "I'm Vaccinated" initiative to spread an optimistic message about the importance of vaccination among tourism workers. By March 2021, the nation would have reached pre-pandemic arrival levels. The gradual rise in arrivals means that the tourism industry is on the mend.
