Island Aviation reached 21 years of service

The Maldives government owns 100% of Island Aviation Services Limited. Maldivian Airlines is the country's national carrier. It provides intra-island services as well as international services to India, Bangladesh, Thailand, and China.
Today, the national carrier flies to 16 airports around the country on a regular basis. Island Aviation was the company's previous name until August 2008, when it was renamed. The primary goal of the re-branding was to establish a distinct identity for the airline.
