Finolhu Maldives celebrates the Platinum Jubilee

Posted on: 5/16/2022, 10:58:44 AM
Guests staying at Finolhu Baa Atoll Maldives over the Platinum Jubilee Weekend on June 2–5, 2022 can toast Queen Elizabeth's illustrious reign with two unique royal drinks created specifically for Her Majesty's palate and preferences. These delectable cocktails can be ordered at the Beach Bar and savored on the resort's spectacular sandbank or poolside in a private overwater villa.
The “Zaza” Dubonnet
The Dubonnet cocktail, a classic 1930s cocktail, is Her Majesty's favorite pre-dinner drink and was also a favorite of the late Queen Mother. The stylish French cocktail is normally served without garnish and without ice, but the royals are believed to prefer it served over ice with a twist of lemon.
Dubonnet, dry London gin, and a splash of lemon bitters
Method: In a mixing glass, combine all components, add ice, and whisk until cooled, then pour and garnish with a lemon slice.
Thyme-less & Down to Earth
This intriguing cocktail celebrates earthy tastes from both land and sea, combining Her Majesty's love of whisky, chocolate, and Prince Phillip's mushrooms a la crème.
Mushroom-infused blended Scotch, thyme, orange and dark chocolate bitters, seaweed mist, and dark cacao are among the ingredients.
Method: Lightly mix thyme leaves, bitters, and seaweed saline solutions in a copper mug. Pour the crushed ice over the whisky and stir slowly. Serve with crushed ice and a cocoa powdered orange peel on top.
Add Royal Treatment
Guests staying at the resort's two-bedroom villas can take advantage of the Roohu, a customised guest service that ensures all needs are met by a dedicated host, including unpacking, dinner reservations, spa bookings, and a custom schedule for the duration of their visit.
