Old Banyan Tree

The big banyan tree (bodu nikagas) is the tallest tree on the island. Being over 100 years old, the tree is protected by the Ministry of Heritage.
You can find a variety of birds nesting in the tree. This big tree is located within the compound of Atoll Hospital.
