Nilandhoo is home to the country’s second-oldest mosque, Aasaari Miskiiy, built during the reign of the first sultan, Sultan Mohammed Ibn Abdullah.
The mosque was built from the ruins of Hindu Temples in the 12th Century and the interior is decorated with carved woodwork.
