Silk Air, a division of Singapore Airlines, travels to the Maldives three days a week. As nine 737-800 NGs enter the SIA fleet, further SilkAir routes will be gradually moved. The full incorporation of SilkAir into Singapore Airlines is expected to be completed in the fiscal year 2021/22.
There will be 12 Business Class seats and 150 Economy Class seats on the SIA 737-800 NG. Customers should expect an upgrade to SIA's award-winning package of in-flight services. On the new aircraft, KrisWorld in-flight entertainment will be available via a web-based portal. The new planes will be seen for commuter flights.
Singapore Airlines and Silk Air also had flights to the Maldives. The A330 and B787 wide-body jets were used by Singapore Airlines, while the Boeing 737s were used by Silk Air. Based on customer requests, the airline plans to fly both aircraft models to the Maldives in the future.
