SriLankan Airlines, Sri Lanka's national carrier, began service to Gan Island in the Maldives' Addu Atoll yesterday, December 4th, 2021. The airline was obliged to temporarily halt operations to the island in March 2020 owing to the commencement of the COVID-19 pandemic, but with the restoration of flights this December, it will restore its title as the only international carrier to fly direct to Gan. Every Saturday at 10:40 a.m., flight UL119 departs Colombo for Gan, and returns at 13:05 p.m. the same day.
SriLankan Airlines, the only international airline that flies direct to an underserved tourism destination, has announced that it will resume flights to Gan. The airline is the first in the South Asian region to achieve the 'Diamond' grade from the Airline Passengers Experience Association (APEX) and SimpliFlying, a recognition for additional safety measures and complete hygiene procedures taken since the global epidemic began. SriLanka Airlines is a multi-award-winning airline with a solid reputation for service, comfort, safety, reliability, and timeliness around the world.
