Wayne Milgate, new GM of Velaa Private Island

Wayne Milgate will be in charge of day-to-day activities as well as all facets of the guest experience. Milgate has spent the last two decades working in luxurious hotels and resorts all over the country. Velaa Private Island is one of the world's most luxurious private island resorts.

Wayne was the Chief Executive Officer of Iniala Hotels and Resorts as well as the General Manager of Vomo Island in Fiji. Wayne, who was born and raised in Australia, will join the Velaa executive committee on March 22. He lives by the virtues of dedication, meaning, and creativity in both his professional and personal life. Wayne's interests include swimming, basketball, and golf, so he'll feel right at home.

The name Velaa Private Island is taken from the generations of sea turtles that nest and hatch on the island.
