Because the Maldivian capital has not yet completed its vaccination targets, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has stated that fully vaccinated guests would be allowed to check into guesthouses in the greater Male' zone. Only fully vaccinated guests who had their last vaccine shot at least 14 days previously will be allowed to stay in inhabited island guesthouses, according to HPA.
In general, tourists who are not completely vaccinated are not permitted to stay in guesthouses on residential islands. However, if the respective islands reach particular immunization targets, exemptions will be granted. A total of 60% of the island's inhabitants must be properly immunized. Vaccination is required for 95 percent of those who provide services to tourists. Unvaccinated visitors who visit residential islands that satisfy vaccination targets must get a test done seven days after their arrival.
