Chinese contractor hands over seaplane terminal to MACL

Maldives Airports Company Limited has received the new seaplane terminal from Beijing Urban Construction Group (BUCG) (MACL) The Chinese contractors overcame the pandemic's hurdles and achieved the project's prompt completion and commissioning on August 4th. With a total turnover of billion, MACL is one of the Maldives' largest private firms.
In February 2021, BUCG finished the building of Madivaru Airport, in addition to the new seaplane terminal. The government spent USD 55 million on the new seaplane station (MVR 848 million). MACL previously indicated that the cutting-edge seaplane terminal will be robust and useable for more than 50 years without the need for major construction-related repairs.
