On Sunday, the Maldives' Ministry of Tourism said that over 57 percent of resort personnel had received the COVID-19 vaccine's second dosage. The tourism ministry announced earlier this month that 99 percent of hotel employees had got their first dosage. The island archipelago hopes to attract more visitors by becoming the world's first completely vaccinated tourism destination.
The COVID-19 vaccination has now been administered to 305,850 persons. The second dose was administered to 156,002 Maldivians. After all residents of the island nation have been completely vaccinated, the 'Visit, Vaccinate, Vacation' effort is planned to commence. In many places, the tropical vacation spot has launched intensive marketing campaigns. In 2021, the Maldives hopes to attract 1.5 million visitors.
