W Maldives' team met for a Reef Cleaning in honor of #EarthDay2021. They were outfitted with snorkeling caps, fins, gloves, and net bags. Island Clean-Up, Dive Against Debris, ocean visibility, and tree planting brought together resort talent and visitors to gather plastics and trash that washed up on the beach and sunk into the reef.
The 100th coral frame has been planted at the Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa. About 5,619 coral fragments from 15 different coral species have been transplanted so far. The resort is also one of 15 pilot hotels included in Marriott Bonvoy's Good Travel program. The program's goal is to foster direct relationships with local residents and the environment.
The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort is located in the Baa Atoll's Unesco Biosphere Reserve. By adopting one of these frames and returning to the resort, guests will be a part of this great project.
